Bank Your Salary (“we”, “us”) is based in Vancouver, BC, Canada. We help people understand the financial benefits of working in rural and remote communities across Canada.

What we collect

When you use our calculator, submit an interest form, or communicate with us, we may collect:

  • Your name, email address, and phone number
  • Your profession, experience level, work authorization status, and relocation timeline
  • Your current city and student debt amount (if you enter it in the calculator)
  • Which communities you explored on our map and the financial comparisons you viewed
  • Your resume, if you choose to send one to us via text message
  • Your responses to our automated text message intake questions
  • Standard website usage data (pages visited, time on site, device type)

Calculator data

When you use the financial calculator, your inputs are processed in your browser to generate results. However, if you submit our interest form, the community and financial comparison you were viewing at the time is sent to our servers alongside your form submission to help us match you with relevant opportunities.

How we use your information

  • To contact you by text message and email about opportunities that match your interests
  • To assess your fit for positions with our employer partners
  • To share your profile with specific employers, only with your knowledge and after a personal conversation with you
  • To improve our tools and understand which communities and professions are most in demand
  • To send you relevant updates if you subscribe to our mailing list

Text messages

When you submit our interest form, you consent to receiving text messages from us about matching opportunities. Our automated assistant may ask you a few initial questions by text to help us understand your situation. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message.

AI processing

We use artificial intelligence tools to help process your information, including:

  • An automated text message assistant that collects initial qualification information
  • AI-powered resume analysis to extract relevant experience and qualifications
  • AI-assisted candidate matching to identify opportunities that fit your profile

These tools help us respond faster and match you with the right opportunities. A real person from our team reviews all AI-generated assessments before any decisions are made about your candidacy.

Resume handling

If you send us your resume via text message, we store it securely and use AI to extract relevant information such as your work history, education, and qualifications. Your resume is only shared with specific employers after a personal conversation with you.

Third-party services

We use the following services to operate our platform:

  • Supabase (database hosting, data encrypted at rest)
  • Twilio (text messaging)
  • Resend (email delivery)
  • HubSpot (candidate relationship management)
  • PostHog (anonymous website analytics)
  • Meta Pixel (anonymous ad performance tracking)
  • Vercel (website hosting)

These services process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and analytics tools including PostHog and Meta Pixel to understand how people use our site and to measure the effectiveness of our advertising. These tools collect anonymous usage data such as pages visited and time on site. You can disable cookies in your browser settings.

Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share your information only in these situations:

  • With specific employer partners, only after a personal conversation with you and with your knowledge
  • With our third-party service providers listed above, who process data on our behalf
  • If required by law

Data retention

We retain your information for as long as it is needed to provide our services and match you with opportunities. If you request deletion, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it.
